How can I access support from Baby Basics MK?

We provide support through referrals from professionals such as midwives, health visitors, schools, social workers, and family support teams.

What items can you provide?

We may be able to provide clothing, toiletries, bedding, baby equipment, nappies, wipes, toys, and other everyday essentials depending on donated stock availability.

Do you provide car seats?

No. For safety reasons, we are unable to provide car seats.

Are all requested items guaranteed?

We will always try to fulfil requests where possible, however we rely entirely on donations so some items may not always be available.

What locations do you support?

We support families living in Milton Keynes and the surrounding local areas.

We’re open Monday to Thursday and closed on Fridays, Bank Holidays, Easter, and Christmas. Opening hours may be reduced during school holidays, so please check our Facebook page for the latest updates.

Do cots include mattresses?

No. While we may be able to provide a cot or cot bed, mattresses must be sourced separately as we do not supply them.

What happens after a referral is submitted?

Once we receive a referral, a member of our team will contact you as soon as possible regarding the support available.

How we support

We offer two main types of support for families across Milton Keynes facing financial hardship, crisis, or difficult circumstances.

Essential Items Service

We provide essential items for babies and children from newborn to 6 years old, helping families who are struggling to afford everyday necessities.

Support may include clothing, toiletries, bedding, equipment, toys, and other practical essentials, depending on current donated stock availability.

Families can access this support through a professional referral from services such as:

Referral Process

For our Essential Items Service, families can access through referral only.

Please note that support is subject to donated stock availability. For safety reasons we are unable to provide certain items.

Step 3

Our team gets in touch and prepares support based on our available donations and current needs.

Top-Up Shop

Our Top-Up Shop offers low-cost essentials to help families make their budgets stretch a little further.

Families can purchase baby food, nappies, wipes, toiletries, and cupboard essentials at reduced prices in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The service is open to anyone who needs a little extra help, and no referral is required.

Top-Up Shop takes place:
Wednesdays, 12:30pm to 2:00pm (term-time only)
Kings Community Centre, Creed Street, Wolverton, MK11 5LY
